8th Annual "Free" Christian Country Music Concert
July 15, 2006 at 7 PM Salinas Community Center
940 N. Main Street, Salinas, CA 93901
Our 2006 concert will feature some of the country's
finest artists:
Mike Hammock has been with us in the past. Since we
have seen him in Salinas he has received the Male Vocalist of the Year award
from the Christian Country Music Association for 2004.
Tommy Brandt has been to Salinas previously and in 2004 was
recognized by his peers at the CCMA Awards Show in Nashville as the New
Comer of the Year.
Branded is always exciting and will be our headliner this year. They
bring many awards with them including CCMA 2005 Duo of the Year and will
share many of their number one hits with us. They will be backed up by
Salinas’s own 8 Second Ride.
Candie Sorensen will be our Master of Ceremonies again this year.
We want to thank all the sponsors, both corporate and individuals that help
make this FREE Concert possible. This is probably the only event of this
kind in the area that the family can attend and enjoy without paying for a
ticket. When you visit one of these sponsors please tell them that you
appreciate their support.
Thanks to all the folks behind the scenes that help make this possible.
These include the publicity and promotion personnel, the ushers, the people
who prepared and served the food for the artists, the sound system people,
those who distributed the posters, those who sold raffle tickets and many
more that we may have forgotten to mention here. It takes a big effort on
the part of everyone to make this so successful.
In an effort to "Keep the Concert Free" we will hold a raffle during the
event this year. Click here for a photo and
description of the raffle items.
Christian Country Music Concert 2005
July 15th at 7:00am at Salinas Community Center
CALVARY COWBOYS

Award winning singer/songwriters Mike Ables and Bruce Repka have been
singing together for eight years. Previously and separately they each had
their own bands and played in bars, honky-tonks and dance halls as well as
opening acts for various country music stars.
In late 2002 the Calvary Cowboys released their first song to Christian
Country radio and in 2003 they were blessed with their first number one song
on the charts. They have been one of the top 2003 and 2004 five nominees for
“Vocal Duo of the Year” and have been a guest appearance on GLC’s “Light Of
The Southwest” television program.
DEL WAY

Del Way had spent much of his life in honky-tonks and beer joints and was
well on his way to alcoholism and divorce when he realized his need for God.
On February 4, 1980 he gave control of his life to Jesus.
In 1986 he began a church called Calvary Temple in Kerrville TX. His first
service was held under an oak tree with 12 people attending. His music
ministry was also accelerating at an extremely fast pace. He currently has
just finished his 14th album.
In 2002 Del won the “New Artist/Songwriter of the Year,” award; won the
“Male Vocalist of the Year” award in 2003 and was one of the top five
nominees for “Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year.” of 2004.
Del and his wife Cindy host a weekly TV program televised world-wide on TBN
(Trinity Broadcasting Network) called “By The Way”.

The fifth annual
Christian Country Music Concert held July 20 at the Sherwood Hall in
Salinas during the Salinas Rodeo was a great success. It was an
incredible and awesome family-friendly concert and enjoyed by everyone who
attended; including the children who were dancing the night away in front
of the stage.
Both
Candice Myers and Mike Hammock have again been nominated for the 2002 Male
and Female vocalists of the year in the upcoming Christian Country Music
Awards in November in Nashville, and Leo Johnston and the CrossCountry
Band are up again for the vocal group and entertainer of the year
awards. With these three CD's and six No. 1 songs, the CrossCountry
Band have numerous awards to its credit. For the past nine years,
they have performed at fairs, festivals, prisons, rodeos, cowboy churches
and traditional churches. They have also performed in North Korea
and China.
Christian Country Helps
Ministries would like to thank, first of all the Lord for His help in
making this happen, all the sponsors for their generous donations and
support, the rodeo officers and board for allowing us to present our
concert during the California Rodeo Salinas and all those who
attended. You were all a blessing to us and we know that Salinas was
truly blessed that night. Our goal is to let people know and see
that they don't have to give up country music if they become a
Christian.
